About Me

I was in elementary school when my book about air pollution, told by a coughing seagull, was posted outside the school office. I was a published author/illustrator and it was thrilling!

Now, I am a professional author/illustrator. My poem "Little Baby, Little Bear," was published in the December 2003 issue of Babybug Magazine. My poems: "Baby Bath," and "Pigs of Summer," will be published by Highlights for Children. My illustrations have appeared in local newsletters and on-line in the Sunday New York Times.

I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and co-president of The Maine Illustrators' Collective.

Over the past ten years, I have been an educator teaching fourth to eighth grade in Gorham, Auburn, Cumberland, and Brunswick. I have taught in a variety of programs including multiage, self-contained, and Gifted & Talented, and am able to meet the needs of all students. I have a M.S. in Education from the University of Southern Maine specializing in "Teaching and Learning."

I want to collaborate with teachers and librarians through school and library programs. I am eager to bring the process of creating art and the excitement of publishing to young authors and illustrators.
